The beauty of yoga is that it can help one to achieve balance, both physical and mental.  Whether you are strong but inflexible or limber but weak, practicing yoga can help your body develop that which it is lacking.  If you are feeling a lethargic tendency or conversely a tumultuous energy, yoga can serve as a means of energizing or calming yourself.  The physical postures, or asanas, may transform one’s body, but the overall practice of yoga may also transform one’s mind.

Why Heated?

Yoga originated in India, where it was practiced in temperatures that reached and surpassed 100° Fahrenheit.  In keeping with tradition the room is heated, which makes muscles more elastic and less susceptible to injury.  This allows for both a safer and deeper practice.  An added benefit of the heat is that it promotes perspiration, which allows for detoxification of impurities from the body.  Asides from detoxification, both the cardiovascular and immune systems get a boost that results in improved blood flow and oxygen movement to the body’s cells and an increase in white blood cell production.
